Behavioral Systems
Experience 1 of 8 — Executive Attunement Foundations

Leaders are not often shown how to view behavior at this systems level. In this session, those connections will be made visible, giving you a clearer sense of why behavioral systems matter for leadership and how small inputs shape long-term outcomes.

session Overview
The purpose of this session is to shift from abstract concepts about behavior to concrete, internalized understanding. You will move from cognitive processing—analyzing ideas at a distance—to affective learning, where the impact of behavior is directly experienced and retained.
This shift is supported through a combination of immersive exercises, mapping tools, and guided reflection. Together, these approaches lay the foundation for deeper perceptual and integrative skills that later experiences develop.
Reaching this affective threshold—where behavioral data is felt, not just understood—creates the conditions for lasting insight. It allows participants to viscerally grasp why small behavioral shifts matter, how they shape long-term outcomes, and why precision in perceptual attunement is essential for effective leadership.
Overarching Goals For Experience 1
-
Adopt a systems lens: recognize behavior in terms of inputs, outputs, and cascading consequences. This requires a conceptual change.
-
Gain a visceral understanding that subtle behaviors can create disproportionate effects on trust, motivation, innovation, and long-term outcomes.
-
Develop prerequisite behavioral perception skills to support advanced application in subsequent session
Skills you will gain
-
Behavioral Systems Thinking
Learn to interpret leadership behavior as structured system input—recognizing how even small actions ripple through teams, culture, and outcomes. -
Impact Awareness
Build the ability to see how subtle leadership behaviors influence trust, motivation, confidence, and innovation over time. -
Consequence Layering
Trace the full cascade of effects triggered by behavior—from immediate reactions to long-term cultural and reputational impact.
-
Behavioral Precision
Sharpen your ability to notice, interpret, and calibrate subtle interpersonal signals with clarity and intention. -
Behavior Mapping Application
Practice using a structured framework to connect real-world behaviors to their broader consequences within teams and organizations. -
Neuroscience-Backed Insight
Understand how power and position can distort social perception—and what research shows about retraining those feedback and social attunement skills.
WHAT TO EXPECT
PRE-WORK
Complete assigned readings and reflection prompts in advance. Come prepared with real leadership examples relevant to your role.
SESSION FORMAT
Sessions use short lecturettes, Socratic dialogue, and applied frameworks. Expect high interactivity and peer-driven insight—this is not a passive learning environment. Breaks are not every hour on the hour, please be prepared for 1.5 hour sessions.
SHARED VR SCENARIOS
Two short (10 minute) VR experiences provide a shared reference point for real-time behavioral observation and group analysis.
APPLIED EXPERIENCE
Your real-world leadership examples, submitted via the pre-assessment survey, will serve as the behavioral data we analyze together. These insights are essential for grounding the session in your lived context. Completion of the pre-assessment by November 20th is required for full participation.
SESSION PROGRESSION
This is the first of eight program sessions and serves as a prerequisite. Ongoing participation depends on your ability to apply the foundational skills introduced here.
Note: Waiver must be signed prior to participating in the VR experiences.

About
Mierzwa Behavior Systems delivers the first program of its kind designed to build behavioral systems intelligence in executive leaders.
Developed through over a decade of global research and field application, our approach integrates applied neuroscience, perceptual retraining, and consequence modeling to help leaders operate with greater clarity, alignment, and long-range impact.
Created by Harvard-trained experts with cross-industry expertise, the program trains leaders to operate at the system level—where behavior becomes data and decisions have compounding effects.
This is a precision skillset for leaders across industries, cultures, and levels of seniority. Whether emerging or experienced, participants learn to detect subtle behavioral patterns, map cascading effects, and make system-aware decisions in high-stakes environments.
